- About CU SNPhA and Our Mission –
SNPhA is an educational and community service association of pharmacy students who are concerned about critical issues affecting healthcare and pharmacy practice in diverse and underserved communities. The University of Colorado School of Pharmacy SNPhA chapter was created in 2003 to “accept the challenge of serving underserved and diverse communities”. Although SNPhA was created to help the underserved and diverse communities, the strength of our association is within our members. SNPhA has demonstrated significant dedication and leadership to diversity.
Our vision and passion has led us to grow and expand immensely. We have tripled in size every year of our existence! Activities during the past year include the Black Church Initiative and the “Get on the Path to Wellness” Health Fairs, Daniel’s Fund and Pre-collegiate Summer Pipeline Programs, Platte Valley flu shot clinics, the Denver Indian Health and Family Services Chart Reviews & Health Fair, the GLBT Center Brown Bag and Education Session, the Black Church Diabetes Class, and Multicultural Food Festivals. These programs support the purpose of the national SNPhA organization, which is to plan, organize, coordinate and execute programs geared toward the improvement of health, education and social environment of diverse and underserved communities.
